Wine Country

Over the past three decades, viticulture in the Yakima Valley has developed significantly, and local winemakers are now among the most respected in the Northwest. Within just 70 miles, the area offers more than 90 wineries and five AVA's, creating a distinctive and rewarding wine-tasting destination.

Hops and Beer

Volcanic soil combined with long, hot days gives the Yakima area excellent conditions for growing hops. Our farmers produce over 70% of our nation's hops, making the region a vital source for craft beer. Visiting the Yakima Valley means coming to where it begins.

Farms and Produce

The Yakima Valley helped establish the "Farm-to-Table" tradition. More than 40 commercial crops are grown here, giving the Pacific Northwest its largest variety of fresh grown produce. Spend time in the sunshine picking fruit yourself or browse one of the region’s many Farmers Markets.

Outdoor Adventure

With 300 days of sunshine each year, the Yakima area invites visitors to spend time outdoors. Few destinations in Central Washington let you ski, bike, hike, and golf within the same day. These activities are all located just a short drive from one another.
