Capitol & 4th Street Theatres

In the heart of downtown Yakima, the historic Capitol Theatre is the area’s main performing arts facility. Its fully restored Vaudeville Theatre accommodates 1,500 people and reflects the community’s commitment to preserving both its heritage and its arts culture. The venue hosts local productions, national tours, and spectacular Broadway touring productions. The 4th Street Theatre provides a more intimate setting for performances and events.

Yakima Movie Theatres

After a day filled with sunshine and outdoor activities, one of Yakima’s movie theaters offers a cool place to catch the newest blockbuster. A fully air-conditioned theater is an especially welcome break from the Yakima Valley heat. For something different, Orion Cinema combines movies with a full dining menu, local beer, and local wine. A few local beers can make the movie even better.

Yakima Symphony Orchestra

At the Capitol Theatre, the Yakima Symphony Orchestra offers a varied schedule of eleven concerts annually. The nationally recognized orchestra is known for creative programming and collaborations, and it also supports a youth symphony program and a symphonic chorus.

A short drive brings visitors to the welcoming community of Tieton, where Tieton Arts & Humanities and the Mighty Tieton Warehouse create a distinctive arts destination. The warehouse serves as an incubator for innovative artisan businesses, and the group has helped establish Tieton as a setting for unusual exhibitions and memorable events.

Larson Gallery

Yakima is home to Larson Gallery, the oldest and largest gallery in Central Washington. The gallery has sustained a productive partnership among the Larson Gallery Guild, Yakima Valley Community College, and Yakima Valley residents.

LaKat Gallery

LaKat presents photography and crafts that highlight the abilities of talented craftsmen. Layman Lumber studios print all photographs, while the frames are made from wood produced at the mill before it closed. With few exceptions, the handicrafts are made with Layman Lumber wood.
