Yakima Valley Wine Country welcomes winemakers and wine lovers for a celebration of the Crush season. As vineyard harvest winds down, local producers begin shaping the next Yakima Valley vintage. Visitors can experience grape stomps, vineyard tours, hands-on views of the crush process, harvest celebrations, live music, seasonal fare from favorite local food trucks and vendors, a vineyard run, and activities suitable for the whole family.
The excitement follows months of careful vineyard work. Growers have been tending the vines and watching the fruit develop until it reaches the desired flavor profiles, sugar levels, and pH. Once the grapes are crushed, the craft of producing premium Yakima Valley wine gets underway.
Harvest festivities are also an ideal opportunity to find wines for holiday gatherings and gifts. Wineries throughout the Valley offer savings and special releases, along with fall presents, artisan foods, and wine country décor in their shops. Winery dining destinations provide opportunities to enjoy food thoughtfully paired with local wine.
The harvest atmosphere extends beyond winery grounds. Between tastings and celebrations, explore the Valley’s just-picked farm flavors, farm stands, and farmers markets, where visitors can find fresh produce, artisan products, handmade bakery treats, and gifts.
