Set between two scenic ridges, Union Gap offers an easy starting point for discovering the Yakima Valley in every direction. The community was founded more than a century ago and was originally Yakima City before taking the name Union Gap in 1917.

Today, Union Gap is an active town filled with seasonal festivals, museums, restaurants, and shops, with convenient access to the Valley's major thoroughfares. A brief drive leads to some of the region's finest produce stands, the Hop Country Craft Beer Trail, and Yakima Valley wine country. Outdoor recreation is accessible in every direction as well.

Union Gap contains the largest collection of antique farm equipment in the Pacific Northwest. At the Central Washington Agricultural Museum, visitors can encounter a distinctive look at the American West and the area's agricultural roots.
