Yakima Sportsman State Park — Camping Along the Yakima River

Yakima Sportsman State Park will close October 31, 2017 at 1pm and reopen March 1, 2018. The dump station/water will also be unavailable during the closure.

Created in 1940 by the Yakima Sportsman's Association, this 247-acre camping park supports game management and the preservation of natural resources. It occupies the floodplain of the Yakima River, creating an irrigated “green zone” within an otherwise desert landscape.

Deciduous trees throughout the park provide shade for camping and picnic areas. The park has recorded one hundred and forty bird species, while ponds attract fishers to the river. It is also a popular overnight stop for travelers and people attending events in the Yakima area.
