Sleeping Dog Wines in Benton City
Sleeping Dog Wines makes its wines with grapes from Buoy Vineyards, which sits next to the winery on south-facing slopes overlooking the Yakima River. The project began as a pleasurable hobby—gleaning grapes after harvest—and developed into a creative pursuit for Larry, a reason for Joyce to avoid fishing, and an opportunity for Aurora, the sleeping dog, to make many new friends.
Sleeping Dog Wines
Tastings and sales are available from 11am to 5pm between April and October. Appointments are available year-round. Customers receive 15% discounts on 6-bottle and 25% on case purchases. Tasting fees support local pet rescue organizations. Wines can also be purchased through the website.
Sleeping Dog Wines produces wine from grapes grown at Buoy Vineyards, immediately adjacent to the winery on south-facing slopes above the Yakima River. What began as an enjoyable pastime of gleaning grapes after harvest became Larry’s creative outlet, Joyce’s poor excuse for not fishing, and a way for Phoebe, the sleeping dog, to meet lots of new friends.
