Founded in 1975, Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) ranks among the oldest touring Shakespeare theatre companies in the world. The company is housed and workshopped in the UK and based in the United States at Shakespeare at Notre Dame through an intensive residency program that is truly one of a kind.

King Lear faces the monarch’s place between authority and chaos, revealing the beauty of selfless love, the pain of betrayal, and civilization’s decline into brutishness when selfish greed has run amuck. Shakespeare’s examination of madness, politics, and filial love remains as resonant and important as ever.

This performance uses general admission seating and school groups will be in attendance. Individuals and families are welcome. To support the speed and efficiency of preparing for the performance, individual attendees and families will sit in an assigned section. Seating will be designated upon arrival.
