David Sedaris at The Capitol Theatre in Downtown Yakima

Arts and Culture

David Sedaris comes to The Capitol Theatre in Downtown Yakima on November 18, 2026, at 7:30 pm for an evening of readings, recollections, Q&A, and book signing.

Writer, humorist, and master of satire David Sedaris returns to Yakima. He is one of the country’s preeminent humor writers, beloved for personal essays and short stories written in an autobiographical, self-deprecating style. His work reflects on family life, his middle-class, suburban upbringing, homosexuality, drug use, and obsessive behaviors.

Several of Sedaris’s books have appeared on national bestseller lists, including Calypso, Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim. His latest book, Happy-Go-Lucky, was published last May by Little, Brown and Company.

Books by David will be available for purchase in the lobby before and after the show. David will sign books for patrons after the performance. Online booking for this event opens at 9:00 am on June 26, 2026.
