Two Days on the Yakima River
Head to the Yakima River Canyon for a welcoming Women’s 2-Day Fly Fishing Retreat focused on enjoyment, confidence, and meaningful time on the water. Women guides provide encouragement while small-group coaching helps participants learn, practice, and fish on Washington’s only Blue Ribbon river.
The retreat welcomes complete beginners as well as women who want to refine existing skills. Day one begins with a beginner-friendly lesson, and instruction is adapted to each participant’s experience. The overall setting is social, relaxed, and intentionally low-pressure.
You can attend with a friend or as part of a small group, though solo participants can also join and meet other women. Lodging is not included because many attendees are local or stay with friends; Canyon River Lodgeis a nearby option. Meals are not included, but guides can help organize an optional group dinner at Canyon River Grill.
Participation is limited so the experience remains personal. For anyone considering fly fishing—or hoping to build on current abilities—the retreat offers two memorable days on the river.

The Experience at a Glance
- One day of guided wade fishing on the Naches River
- One day of guided float fishing on the Yakima River
- Instruction and coaching each day from Red's professional guides
- Fly fishing and casting instruction on Day 1
- Morning yoga on Day 2
- After the morning activity, the group divides in two: one half fishes the Naches while the other half floats the Yakima River; the groups switch locations the next day
- Activities run from 9 am until 4:30 pm at Canyon River Ranch
- Optional dinner each evening at Canyon River Grill, with group reservations available through coordination
