Whitecap Beach takes its name from the bright white sand along this largely untouched shoreline. Families, small groups, and solo travelers can all enjoy a classic beach day here. The beach sits between Michael J. Ellis Beach & Seawall and Padre Balli Park, with each neighboring destination offering its own experience. Whitecap remains a locals' classic.

How to Get There

Reach Whitecap Beach from S Padre Island Dr by using Whitecap Blvd or Access Rd 4. Purchase a parking permit before arriving so you can park on the beach.

Bringing Dogs to Whitecap Beach

All beaches in Corpus Christi are dog friendly, provided dogs remain on a leash or under verbal command. Our pet-friendly beaches welcome pets and dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Whitecap Beach is off-limits to dogs on all major holidays. During those periods, take dogs farther down the beach to Padre Balli Park.

Lifeguard Coverage

Mobile lifeguards patrol Whitecap Beach. During the Summer Season (Memorial Day to Labor Day), lifeguard stands are positioned on the beach. The Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation Department’s full lifeguard schedule provides additional information about lifeguard coverage and mobile patrol throughout the year.

Trash Disposal

Blue boxes at the beach entrances and access roads provide complimentary trash bags; taking one or two helps keep waste from blowing away because the bags are designed to shed sand. Trash cans are available at every beach entrance and along the beach. Visitors are encouraged to help leave the shoreline better for the next person.

Please note that there is a burn ban in effect in Nueces County until November 18, 2025.
