Surf Conditions

When sunshine combines with a southeast breeze moving over the Gulf of Mexico, choppy water can create excellent conditions along the South Texas Coast for both beginners and dedicated surfers.

Local's Tip

For the strongest surf, head to North Packery Beach, also known as J.P. Luby, near the Zahn Rd entrance at Mile Marker 207 along the jetty. Bring your board and be prepared to catch some of the best waves on the Texas coast.
