Visit Corpus Christi — About the Organization

Visit Corpus Christi serves as a full-service travel information center, providing Corpus Christi maps and Visitors Guides both online and in print for anyone seeking them. The organization also supplies marketing support to the tourism, sports, and convention industries throughout the community.

Who Is Visit Corpus Christi?

Visit Corpus Christi is a 501c6 Destination Management Organization contracted by the city of Corpus Christi. Its mission is to strengthen our community by sharing Corpus Christi with the world. Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) paid by visitors staying overnight in hotels and short-term rentals provides the organization’s primary funding.

Through destination marketing, sales, public relations, tourism development, and community partnerships, Visit Corpus Christi aims to increase visitation, help local businesses, and improve quality of life for residents. The organization also includes the Corpus Christi Sports Commission, which brings regional and national sporting events to the city, generates economic impact, and highlights Corpus Christi as a premier sports destination.

Visit Corpus Christi additionally leads the Film Commission. This work supports film productions, live music initiatives, and creative industries that share the story of Corpus Christi and contribute to the local economy.

Together, these activities help establish Corpus Christi as a vibrant Gulf Coast destination while creating opportunities for residents, visitors, and businesses.
