About Visit Corpus Christi

Who is Visit Corpus Christi?

Visit Corpus Christi is a 501c6 Destination Management Organization contracted by the city of Corpus Christi. Its mission is to strengthen the community by sharing Corpus Christi with the world.

The organization receives most of its funding from Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT), which is paid by visitors staying overnight in hotels and short-term rentals.

Visit Corpus Christi uses destination marketing, sales, public relations, tourism development, and community partnerships to increase visitation, assist local businesses, and improve quality of life for residents. It also houses the Corpus Christi Sports Commission, which brings regional and national sporting events to the area, generating economic impact and presenting the city as a premier sports destination.

The organization additionally leads the Film Commission. This work supports film productions, live music initiatives, and creative industries that share the story of Corpus Christi and contribute to the local economy.

Together, these activities help establish Corpus Christi as a vibrant Gulf Coast destination while creating benefits and opportunities for residents, visitors, and businesses.
