Easter at Elizabethan Gardens
Elizabethan Gardens hosts the largest egg scavenger hunt on the beach, featuring thousands of eggs. Activities include egg spoon races, a hat contest, musical acts, dancers, a special visit from Sir Walter “Peter” Wabbit, make-and-take crafts, an egg roll race, and special prize eggs that can be redeemed for prizes, gift certificates, stuffed animals, and more.
Guests should bring their own Easter Basket to gather eggs and prizes. Pre-reserved timed-entry admission is required, with all tickets sold online and no on-site ticket sales. This is a weather-dependent event and is limited to 75 guests at each entry time. Standard admission prices apply. The event also includes music on the great lawn, vendors, and take-home crafts. The butterfly house will be filled with butterflies as well, and the first 100 children will get the opportunity to release them into the house.
Fly Into Spring And Easter EGGstravaganza
The Kite Festival is scheduled for Friday & Saturday from 10am-4pm at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Visitors can enjoy spring breezes, soaring kites, and an easygoing day outdoors.
The EGGstravaganza takes place at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing, located across the street from the dunes. On Friday and Saturday, Easter Egg Hunts begin throughout Jockey's Ridge Crossing starting at 11AM. Hunts are divided by age group: 3 & under, 4-6, and 7-12. Bring an Easter Basket, then stay for photos with the Easter Bunny from 12:00-1:00pm. Admission is free.
Easter Brunch
Plan ahead with a reservation at one of the area’s many non-chain restaurants, such as Eventide. Brunch works well for a holiday family meal, or you can have a chef prepare a full spread for everyone in your group.
Outer Banks chefs cover all kinds of cravings, from longtime crowd favorites like pizza to aged beef and pulled pork barbecue. Whether you need gluten-free, vegan, culture-focused, or kid-friendly dining, the Outer Banks restaurant scene has options that fit. Restaurants from Duck to Hatteras Village can be filtered by name, distance, or preferred cuisine.
