Avalon’s island shops welcome the season with rare savings on beloved island jewelry, art, apparel, distinctive gifts, home goods, and more. It’s a cheerful week of shopping, celebration, and holiday spirit.

Celebrate the season with Shop Catalina

Start the holidays in beautiful Avalon at the Shop Catalina Holiday Kick-Off on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This festive shopping event invites guests to support local small businesses while beginning their Christmas and Hanukkah gift buying. Visitors can find special discounts, join prize drawings, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere with friends and family.

Seasonal fun fills the day, with live caroling, Santa making a special appearance, and the Catalina Island Christmas tree lighting on the Wrigley Stage. The community gathers in central Avalon for the celebration. Festivities begin at 12 pm, with programming on the Wrigley Stage continuing throughout the day. On opening day, shops remain open until 8 pm so visitors can enjoy the first-day savings, which are often a little extra.

The celebration continues beyond opening day. From December 6 to December 13, shoppers can get a Shop Catalina Discount Card, valid through December 24, and visit participating Avalon shops. Each participating store offers chances to join in-store prize drawings and gather Treasure Card code words, giving shoppers a shot at one of three Grand Prizes: Catalina Island Gift Certificates up to $125.
