Meetings, Events, and Group Gatherings on Catalina Island

California’s Only Island Resort Meeting, Event & Group Destination

Just 22 Miles off the southern California Coast

Catalina Island brings together dramatic natural beauty, easy access, and distinctive settings for meetings and groups. Pair those venues with a broad mix of activities on land and water, open-air surroundings, and nights filled with stars, and the result is a gathering place people remember. Set within Los Angeles County, Catalina Island is reached from the mainland by a scenic hour-long passenger ferry ride or a 15-minute helicopter flight.

Within easy walking distance, groups have access to 800 guest rooms, along with singular meeting and event spaces not found elsewhere. Options include the largest contiguous ballroom in the country with 29,000 square feet of pillarless space for up to 1,400 attendees, plus an ocean-view event lawn with its own stage. More intimate events can use a Mediterranean-style Country Club or an oceanfront beach house suited to executive meetings and board retreats.

For groups and teams, Catalina Island offers activities designed to be both engaging and fun, from five self-guided, self-paced rope and adventure courses to escape rooms, scavenger hunts, food tours, and inland tours that help attendees connect and build camaraderie. Before or after a meeting or event, groups can also enjoy scuba diving, ziplining, snorkeling, sport fishing, hiking, biking, parasailing, concerts, festivals, and time relaxing on the beach.

With restaurants and bars that serve both individuals and groups, attendees have plenty of ways to spend their time and enjoy Catalina Island.

Adventures, Activities & Things to Do

Because there are so many fun things to do on Catalina, planning ahead helps your group make the most of the island. Whether the occasion is a family reunion, corporate function, bachelorette party, or team building event, Catalina can turn it into a memorable outing. For a group of 10 or 100, the island offers experiences with broad appeal.

Arrive by helicopter or boat, then begin with a golf cart tour or rent bikes to see more of the island. For a bigger rush, clip in for five separate zip lines that begin with a starting drop of over 600 feet above sea level. The longest zip line is approximately 1,100 feet long, with cruising speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.

After that kind of shared adventure, your group is likely to feel closer. Once the meeting wraps up, come together on a glass-bottom boat, rent jet skis, and speed across the water. Wedding parties can create lasting memories on a happy hour cruise or a whale watching tour.
