Avalon map and Catalina Island business directory

Avalon covers only 2 square miles, making it simple for most visitors to get around on foot. The primary street along the waterfront is Crescent Ave., commonly called Front Street. It is pedestrian friendly and closed to regular vehicle traffic, with access limited to emergency vehicles.

Several streets branching from Crescent Ave. are known as the Flats. These include Clarissa Ave, Descanso Ave., Catalina Ave., Beacon St., Eucalyptus, which is pedestrian only, and Sumner Ave. For most people, the walk from the Cabrillo Mole, where ferry passengers and cruise tenders arrive, to Crescent Ave takes less than 4 minutes.

Via Casino connects from Crescent Ave. to the Catalina Casino. Most visitors can walk from the Green Pleasure Pier to the Casino in about 5 minutes.

After the Casino, the road becomes St. Catherine Way, continuing toward Descanso Beach Club, Descanso Canyon, where the zipline/aerial adventure is located, and Hamilton Cove. The walk from the Casino to the Descanso Beach Club area is about 5 minutes for most people.
