Wildlife on Catalina Island
Catalina Island supports a wide range of wildlife, including both native and non-native species. Visitors may encounter Catalina Fox, Bald Eagles, seabirds, Catalina Shrew, and bats. The island’s non-native bison herd, numbering about 120 bison, lives across the 42,000 acres of protected Catalina Island Conservancy lands and is sometimes seen in the village of Two Harbors.
