Celebrations in Two Harbors are scheduled for July 3. Avalon’s 4th of July events are planned for July 4.

July 3

USC Marching Band Performance

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Catch the USC Trojan Marching Band performing live on Wrigley Stage.

July 4

Mermaid Meet & Greet on Middle Beach

9:00 AM - 10:00 am

Begin the 4th of July at the shoreline with Madison the Mermaid, featuring fin-tastic tail flips and mermaid tricks.

Home & Business Decorating Contest

10:00 am

Awards include Best Theme, Overall Decoration, and Most Patriotic. Judging starts at 10 am, with winners shared at 12:30 pm. Winners receive Catalina Island Gift Certificates: 1st place $100 · 2nd place $50 · 3rd place $25

Golf Cart Parade - Crescent Avenue

1:00 pm

Val Schafer is the Parade Grand Marshall.

Dress up, decorate your cart, or take on the role yourself. Floats should be decorated for the 2026 theme: Red, White and 250 — Celebrating our History and Defining our Future.

All decorated carts participating in the parade must complete Golf Cart Parade registration.

Live Music on Wrigley Stage

2:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Music will take place on Wrigley Stage through the afternoon and evening.

Dinghy Parade

3:30 pm

The Catalina Island Yacht Club organizes this parade. Bring your dinghy and cruise through the Avalon Bay moorings, or enjoy the view from shore.

USC Marching Band at the Catalina Casino Ticketed

6:30 pm

See the USC Trojan Marching Band live at the Catalina Casino on the Fourth of July, then watch the fireworks from the Casino promenade. This is a ticketed event.

Fireworks Show over Avalon Bay

9:00 pm (approx.)

Bring a blanket or chair and choose a viewing spot on one of Avalon’s main beaches, or enjoy the show from your boat, hotel, vacation rental, or favorite downtown location.

USC Marching Band on Wrigley Stage

9:30 pm

The USC Marching Band returns for a live performance on Wrigley Stage at 9:30 pm.

Special thanks go to Garden State Fireworks, Curtin Maritime and Catalina Express.

The City of Avalon, Love Catalina Tourism Authority and the Catalina Island Company organize, manage and promote these events.

All (tax deductible) donations to the City of Avalon go towards supporting the fireworks show and the USC marching band's performance in the parade.

Two Harbors Events

July 3

Children's Festival — 40th Annual

10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Celebrate Independence Day with the 40th Annual Children's Festival. Kids can come to Buffalo Park for crafts & activities from 10am to 12pm.

Dinghy Parade — 22nd Annual

2:00 pm

Bring your creatively decorated patriotic dinghy and join the 22nd Annual Dinghy Parade at 2pm through the coves of the West End. The most creative dinghies will receive prizes.

Fireworks Celebration

Approx. 9:00 pm (dark)

Enjoy the fireworks show above Isthmus Cove. The display begins at dark (approx 9pm). Arrive early for food and a cold drink at Harbor Reef Restaurant before fireworks illuminate the sky over Isthmus Cove.

Catch the Two Harbors Fireworks

Evening

Guests staying in Avalon can travel from the Green Pleasure Pier aboard the Cyclone speed boat or take an air-conditioned Motor Tour to reach Two Harbors in time for the annual fireworks spectacular.
