A St. Louis Park Landmark for More Than 60 Years

For over 60 years, The Park Tavern has served as a landmark in St. Louis Park. This welcoming destination for families combines bowling lanes, arcade games, darts, a restaurant, and a bar.

Ben Weber purchased Park Tavern on September 27, 1957, after years of traveling to sell women’s outerwear. He wanted to spend more time at home with his family. Though restaurant operations were new to him, his tireless work ethic helped Park Tavern become the #1 seller of 3.2 tap beer in the state of Minnesota.

Ben’s son Phil, who is the current owner, joined him at Park Tavern in 1970. In 1979, the City of St. Louis Park chose to widen Louisiana Avenue, requiring the business to move. The relocation created room for food, spirits, and bowling inside a 30,000 sq ft building. Ben’s daughter Diane joined the company after the move as well.

Ben passed away over 30 years ago, yet Park Tavern remains a thriving dining and entertainment fixture in the Twin Cities.

Dining

Park Tavern is known for award-winning burgers and pizzas prepared to order, served in a relaxed, family-friendly environment. Begin with cheese curds or fried pickles, then choose a sandwich with tater tots, fish & chips, or a nightly special. Throughout the main dining room, wall-to-wall TV screens make it easy to cheer for your favorite team.

During the summer months, the patio offers bocce ball, cornhole, and room for up to 150 people, including furry friends.

Weekend brunch includes a signature breakfast pizza topped with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and mozzarella cheese, all finished with Hollandaise sauce. The breakfast menu also includes eggs benedict, a breakfast burrito, chicken & waffles, berry waffles, and a breakfast burger on an English muffin. Bloody Marys and mimosas are available as well. Breakfast is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 am – 2 pm.

The 11th Frame “Midwest Made” Bar draws guests with bar games, darts, pool, and more. Local guests especially enjoy its late-night happy hour.

Bowling

Park Tavern has 20 bowling lanes for recreational bowlers, available from 11 am to close daily. Cosmic Bowling takes place Friday & Saturday evenings from 9:30 pm – 1 am and is available to guests 21+. The price is $22 per person for all you can bowl. Hourly group rates are available too, with shoe rental included for parties.

Summer brings live bands to the Park Tavern patio. Special events held during the year include Galentine’s Day, football viewing parties, and the annual Halloween bash. Pulltabs are available every day.

Darts & Arcade

The 11th Frame Bar is a place to relax with a pint and play darts after bowling. League play is available through AAA Dart Leagues. The main bowling area also contains a mini arcade with over 10 games, including Hammerhead, which resembles Whac-A-Mole with sharks, and the Claw. A full prize machine adds to the family appeal.

Event Space

Park Taven provides event space for groups of different sizes and budgets. Private and semi-private dining rooms are available at no charge and have no spending minimums. The spaces suit rehearsal dinners, baby showers, class reunions, small office get-togethers, and corporate events. Park Taven can host and cater events up to 500 people. Guests may bring a cake for their celebration.

• Atrium: A small private dining room with natural light and two 46” TVs. Accommodates 20 guests.
• Party Room: A private room set apart from the main dining room, with one 70” plasma TV, dvd player, and computer display cables. Accommodates 50 guests.
• The Lanes: The largest event area, suited to bowling parties and casual group gatherings. Accommodates up to 150 guests.
• Patio: Outdoor seating with lawn games and private and semi-private areas. Accommodates up to 100 guests. Available late spring through early fall.
• Bocce Ball Area: Outdoor space for private use that seats up to 50 guests.
• 11th Frame Bar: This popular gathering room is separate from the main dining room and bowling lanes. It features a full bar, games, 13 big screen TVs, TouchTunes jukebox, projector, and microphone. Accommodates up to 200 guests.

Catering

Park Tavern works with event hosts to develop a menu suited to their occasion. Options include assorted hot and cold appetizers and themed buffets such as the Latin Fiesta and BBQ Buffet. Buffet selections require a minimum of 20 guests, and pricing includes 2 hours of bowling, though bowling can be omitted from the price.

Buffets can be customized to meet specific needs, including individual menus for guests with dietary restrictions. Off-site catering is available as well.
