About Haggard Barrel
The name Haggard calls to mind something gritty, gnarly, and well worn. Haggard Barrel is a small, up-and-coming brewery operated by two industry veterans. While the brew space has a haggard appearance and a DIY aesthetic, the beer is carefully made, with an emphasis on small batch lagers and barrel aged stouts.
Around 8 beers are generally available on tap at a time. Rotating selections may include:
- Schlapp’s — An American lager made from choice barley malt and flaked corn, with light hopping. 4.3% ABV.
- DIPA — A “Decade Under The Influence” India pale ale combining classic West Coast IPA ingredients with new-age hopping techniques and technology.
- Plain Vanilla Stout — Made with real vanilla beans.
- Sweater and Chain — A hazy IPA.
Glonky is a smoothie-style sour ale available in 2 flavors and brewed without lactose. It won a gold medal at the 2024 U.S. Beer Open.
Haggard Barrel also offers gluten-free seltzer cocktails made with 100% real juice. Options include the pineapple margarita and the mule, each available boozy or booze-free.
Taproom and To-Go Beer
The brewery sits in the center of Skunk Hollow, now known as St. Louis Park’s Libation District, next door to Warehouse Winery. Its taproom includes an outdoor seating area on weekends. 16 oz. cans of beer are also available to take home.
