Discover the Trail of Small Wonders
Westwood Hills Nature Center becomes a place of woodland enchantment as St. Louis Park Friends of the Arts, together with the Westwood Hills Nature Center, presents the Trail of Small Wonders.
The festival introduces a miniature realm filled with tiny, hand-made homes for fairies, elves, gnomes, and perhaps a few trolls. The celebration also includes music and dance performances, storytelling, hands-on art activities, and puppet shows.
Opening Day Festival
The Opening Day Festival welcomes everyone at no cost. Guests are invited to dress as their favorite woodland creature and wander the ADA accessible trail while discovering magical dwellings made by community members of all ages. Homes may be found on tree stumps, among stones and moss, or suspended from branches.
Children can receive a complimentary woodland animal headband or flower garland, while supplies last, along with a temporary tattoo and a swipe of magical face paint glitter.
The festival takes place from 4:30 – 8 pm.
Kurbside Catering and Dogpark Gourmet Hotdogs will have food trucks serving quesadillas, shaved ice, and hot dogs available for purchase.
Parking at Westwood Hills is limited. Guests are encouraged to use the free shuttle departing from St. Louis Park Middle School.
Trail Display
The Small Wonders will be available to view at Westwood Hills Nature Center from July 13 until August 1, sunrise to sunset. No appointment is necessary.
